Irina’s profile

Irina Kudres — photographer and co-founder of Panoramica creative studio in the Italian Alps.

— During the past 10+ years, I’ve been working and creating mostly in digital environment — from being a co-founder of one of the first online wedding magazines in Russia and leading a PR team in German startup in Malaysia to taking a new path in photojournalism and book publishing.

Today my two main directions are web analytics and documentary photography. Yes, I’m balancing my way between technical complex things and creativity — which is also not easy to do.

In total, there are 50+ leading clients in my portfolio such as Afar travel media, PeakVisor outdoor app, Lime e-vehicles sharing, and others. Very briefly, I helped them be visible online, understand customer behavior, and choose directions and specific ways to grow.

As a journalist, my first major work is “Beyond the Italy Divide” — a collection of 25+ interviews with Italian bikepacking pioneers. Before, I recorded individual interviews and short series, working on other projects about startups, well-being, and migration.

As a photographer, I am the author of several photo stories created to inspire us live slower, be in nature, and explore the surroundings, which can be found on my site. Based on some of them I am writing a photobook “Closer to the sea: Stories from a low season on the Italian coast” — narratives about spending winters on the Riviera of Ulysses (Riviera di Ulisse — a Latin name of Odysseus) of the Italian coast between Rome and Naples. It will be published in Panoramica in winter of 2025. I also help to promote a studio’s book “The art and science of street photography”. Before this, I was photo editor at the same wedding online magazine and, while later working in German startup, I organized photo sessions for teammates — these photos were published in the local newspaper.

As a speaker, I participated in more than 10 online events with public talks about working in digital and has done several interviews for various popular media, blogs, and newsletters.

My other creative- and travel-related achievements include 3 personally organized creative hikes in the Dolomites for 8 people; mentorship of a woman working in digital via my international consultancy started in 2018; and studying for a master’s degree “Planning and Management of Tourism Systems” at the University of Bergamo, Italy.

Prior to Italy and Russia, I lived in Malaysia and Germany, and traveled to more than 30 countries, also mostly in Europe. I lived most of my grown-up life in the big cities: Moscow, Sochi, and Saint Petersburg; Kuala Lumpur, and Munich. Through my traveling and seeing different not ordinary ways of living, I remembered my childhood dream to live in the countryside close to nature and made it a reality.

I speak three languages: fluent English, basic Italian and native Russian. I can read in basic German too.

There are more than 100 positive reviews about working and communicating with me.
